  1. Due to Agricultural chemicals, solvents and mercury, which flowed into the Rhine River during the warehouse fire in Switzerland millions of fish were killed and the drinking water in the Federal Republic of Germany and Netherlands was threatened.
  2. Sustainable Development -  "Development which meets the need of the present without compromising the ability of the future generations to meed their own needs" such was the conclusion of the World Commission on Environment and Development.
